i was really looking forward to this run but… some things aren’t meant to be. got 800m down the street before wiping out and limping my way home. managed to limp/jog so i can still cross today off on my calendar. but it hurt. not too upset over the lost mileage because it’s a taper week anyway (spontaneous half this weekend, if my knee heals up in time). here’s hoping it stops throbbing sometime soon.

happy wednesday ✨🌸💫

happy saturday! slept in (while rus went surfing), got brunch at the cafe around the corner, took baby bear out and min to the beach, got an easy + sunny 6 miles in, showered, had my favorite smoothie, and spent a while reading at the coffee shop down the street. i miss ct running veryvery much but man, i love every other part of this little beach town.

someone: I could NEVER be vegan omg I could NOT give up cheese, plus I already have an iron deficiency and some kind of disease that makes it difficult for me to absorb certain vitamins that I’d love to tell you about at length, I’d also like to describe at length my grandfather’s habits surrounding hunting, he uses EVERY part of the animal, actually I have a friend who tried to go vegan once but all of her organs turned to liquid after a few months it was sad, I myself tried to go vegetarian once when I was 13 and three quarters (not vegan because AGAIN, the cheese) and omg I started getting SO tired so I had to give it up. I have a second cousin who’s in PETA

me, who did not ask: ah .

today’s run & pre-run fuel. gorgeous day, easy miles on tired legs on my favorite (ca) vibrant, green trails. relaxing morning before our first track meet of the season - the kids all did so well. one of my favorite parts about coaching is that it means almost my entire day revolves around running and that’s just so much fun.

16 easy, hilly, windy, sunny miles that went by fast to start wednesday off. such a gorgeous day for it (though i do wish there was some shade on this route). i felt sluggish on my other runs so far this week so it was nice to wake up feeling fresh today. at mile 9 i passed a guy who pointed to his wrist and said, “i thought we weren’t meeting until 12:30 for the run!” and i’ve never gotten a joke like that before; it made me laugh. at mile 14 a fellow runner and i passed each other and she clapped and cheered for me which was unexpected but very nice. currently enjoying a relaxing afternoon of snuggling with my pups and getting chores done before heading over to coach track practice.
